Gramps,
You were so much more than a grandfather: you were gramps, my friend, my role model, my counselor, my teacher and filled all these roles without judging any of my foolish actions growing up. I know I still have a lot to learn because, like you always said, “you cannot put a forty year olds head on twenty year olds shoulders.” I’m sure you would not mind if I changed that to “you cannot put a sixty year olds head on a thirty year olds shoulders.” It just fits a little better now. I know you are no longer with me on earth but I will always look to you for guidance, that will not stop because I know you will be listening. You have helped make me the person I am today and my mother has many of your qualities, I thank you for both.

You have touched so many lives with your huge heart, comforting hugs and master woodwork. You were a true “angel on earth” and I thank you for having such a huge part in my life. You drove hours to watch softball games, bowling tournaments and attend events. You took the time out of your life to be there for me when I needed you the most. It did not matter what you had planned you would drop everything just to listen. (You even had the time when it was just to play twenty games of frogger!) I cannot thank you enough for everything you have done and the person you have made me; so when I see you again, I will thank you with one of the giant hugs we used to always share. Until I see you again, I WILL MISS YOU GRAMPS AND I LOVE YOU!!!!

Some people make the world special just by being in it!! Pop-a-San you were one of those people. It was a privilege to know you and to share a life with you. Because of you I am a better person and for that I thank you. I love you and you will always be in my heart.. Thank you for all the memories. This is not good-by but just a see you later. For I know that some day we will see each other again.

Dad,
You are the light of my life and my dearest friend. You always gave of yourself and touched everyone you met. I only hope I can be half the person you were. Your candle will remain lit with me until I reunite with you in heaven. Rest in peace with the Lord my dear friend. All my love....

Heaven has welcomed him
While we on Earth remain
What a joyous reunion
With family to see again
Grandma and Grandpa,
My mom and dad too
Will once again surround him
In a land made for them, me and you.
So follow in his lead
And to Jesus turn
For there are many lessons
We can all learn.

I wrote this poem a little while ago. What an amazing man. My Uncle Robert was someone who always made you feel special. With his video camera he had when we were kids he would go around trying to get pictures of all. He was patient while this (me) little tyke kept jumping into the screen saying hi numerous times! I have many things he made for us over the years. If I had an idea he would make it for me.

When we were kids he would go to the bakery at 3:00 in the morning just to be able to get long johns for our family to eat...ummmm they were delicious.

You had a special father and grandfather. I had a special uncle. God has him now! Rest in Peace Uncle Bobert!
