We grieve the loss of such a gracious and caring man! Bob was our pastor when we first married and lived in Ashland, KY until 1990. He and Elaine were and are such great people.

Dear Elaine,
Though Bob left Danbury 60+ years ago, he never lost touch with those he made a major impact on. He describes those relationships so well in his recent memoirs ("Nostalgia"). I felt honored on many occasions when he reached out to me during his visits back home to Danbury. If he could no longer travel back, he would connect with me via a phone call. There was something special about him that made me feel so good each time we made contact. I just spent an hour unsuccessfully looking for an old photo that encapsulates our relationship all these years. It shows Bob in his high school football uniform immediately after a big win standing next to me (age 8) while I was clutching his (my Idol) helmet. I have fond memories of the time I accompanied him to Lexington/Paris Kentucky as a fifteen year old, who was asked by Bob's father to make the fifteen hour drive and join him while he brought a group of teenagers on a week's retreat. Then there was the time, both you & he graciously gave me & my two fraternity brothers a place to stay overnight on our 10 week long trip (1964) around the country. Bob was such a special person, that on a recent trip back from Florida, I told my wife that we were going to take the longer route back in order to visit Lynchburg College were Bob attended. I think that is the impact a special person can have on someone 65 years after he attended the college.
I know we live 800 miles apart, but please reach out if there is anything I can do for you.
