ROBERT STRAWBRIDGE
Bob was a very accomplished equestrian, including hunters, jumpers, and foxhunting. He won many pony championships and was Amateur Champion of the Year on his horse "Wall Street Trader". He was also a very skilled and competitive sailor, and won many champion-ships on his well-campaigned boat "Full Cry".
Bob was a member of the Bath and Tennis Club, the Ever-glades Club, and The Sailfish Club in Palm Beach, and several clubs in PA. and North-east Harbor.
Bob is lovingly remembered by his mother, Diana S. Wister; brother, John S. Crompton; sister, Margaret D. Duriez; daughters, Taylor H. Crompton and Diana S. Crompton; nieces Charlotte H. Crompton, Ines D. Duriez, and Delphine D. Duriez; nephews Lucien D. and Hugo D. Duriez; half-brothers Andrew C. Crompton, James S.R. Crompton, William R. Crompton, Robert H. Crompton, and Thomas S. Crompton; and half-sister Georgia R. Crompton; and former wives Jill Hepworth Crompton and Sophie Sharp. He was predeceased by his father, Robert H. Crompton III. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. No arrangements have been made at this time.

In my mid-20s I spent a lot of time with Bob and his family on Nantucket. He had a beautiful boat named Moose Maple and he taught me a lot about boating during those summers. Bob was kind and gentle and though we fell out of touch over the years, Im so sorry to know of his death. Thank you for your friendship and so many memorable times on the water Bob.

I am so sad to learn of Bob's death. I shall always remember him as a very kind,gentle boy especially during the summer of 1969 when I was his au pair at Newport.
