Robert CUFFE Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 22, 2022.
Peacefully, with family by his side, Bob passed away on Friday, June 17th at Port Colborne Hospital. Beloved husband for 57 years of Elaine (nee Chalcraft), and much-loved Dad of Karen Nero (Peter) and Jamie (Jenn). Dear brother-in-law to Jim Chalcraft (Wendy Hammond). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Fondly remembered by Donna & Jay DiSalvo, Jaime, and Dean VanNes (Devyn) and Kyle Vanderheiden (Lily Hoang). Bob was predeceased by his parents Les and Olive Cuffe, his in-laws Eileen and Fred Chalcraft, his brother Ken, and his sisters Helen Vida, Marion Vida, and Carol Scott. Born in 1936 in Humberstone and raised in Port Colborne, Bob worked first at the Shoe Factory and then spent many years at Inco Limited. When he married Elaine in 1964, they settled in Welland where they raised their family. Bob retired from Inco in 1995. Bob always knew that the 'little things in life were in fact the big things', and he found joy in every day, whether making morning coffee and reading the paper, going on driving jaunts with Elaine around Niagara, or spending time with family. The family extends sincere thanks to staff at the Welland Hospital and Port Colborne (Palliative) for their care and compassion. The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. The family respectfully requests that masks be worn when inside the funeral home. Donations in memory of Bob may be made to Niagara Health Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
