ROBERT FOLKS Obituary
Summerfield - Robert Folks, Sr., 75, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, February 9, 2017. He was born in Columbia, SC on June 25, 1941 to Susie Folks (Thompson) and James DeVault.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Melvin Folks and Ron Folks; and his sister, Pearl Folks Collins. He was also predeceased by his first wife, Juanita McGhee Folks; and son, Robert Folks, Jr.
After graduating from CA Johnson High School in 1959, he moved to Queens, New York where he lived for 44 years. He retired in 2003 a Train Operator for the New York City Transit Authority. Robert served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam 1966-1968 and was awarded the Purple Heart among other awards.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Folks, Summerfield; children, Marcella C. Folks, South Carolina; Lena Croudep, Ocala; James Croudep, Indiana; 10 grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at New Covenant MB Church, Ocala, FL; Rev. Stanley Jacobs, Pastor. Burial will be in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Brown Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, LLC 706 SE MLK Jr., Ave., Ocala, FL is in charge of funeral arrangements.
