Rev. Robert K. Geelhoed, PHD, age 58, of Downers Grove. Safe in the arms of Jesus November 26th. Beloved husband of Ruth, nee Knapper; loving father of Benjamin Edward Geelhoed, ET3, USN, Robin Anne (Jacob) Barnett, and Emily Jean (Brandyn) Deckinga; dear son of Kenneth R. and Catherine I. Geelhoed; fond brother of Karen Beth (Paul) Paradiso and Lori Kay (Scott) Heckman; brother-in-law of the late Henry (Barbara) Knapper, Daniel (Annette) Knapper, Peter (Susan) Knapper, and Edward (Mary) Knapper; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Pastor at Lincoln Center Christian Reformed Church, Grundy Center - Iowa, 1983-1987. Pastor of Care and Counseling at Christ Church of Oakbrook, 1990-2009. Christian Reformed Chaplain, 1990-2010. Visitation Saturday 4-7PM at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Rd. (3 blks. So. of Roosevelt Rd), Lombard. Memorial Service Sunday 2PM at Christ Church of Oak Brook, 31st & York Rd, Oak Brook. Service also available streaming live through church website, www.cc-ob.org. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Christ Church of Oak Brook Mission Fund would be appreciated. With every hospice patient I visit, I can feel Bobs quiet spirit alongside me as I minister to these dying patients and their families. In 2002, He was my mentor as I was transitioning to become a hospice chaplain. His mentoring was retroactive and helps me to this day. Thank you, Bob, for your demonstration of Gods peace and grace to me. Your ministry continues through me.

Our family has regularly thought of and prayed for pastor Geelhoed. He smiled often and he pastored our family with love. We will miss him. May God uphold the family until they reunite in Heaven.
