Age 88, of Moon Township, formerly of Sewickley, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2014, at The Willows. He was born in Ambridge on April 9, 1926, to the late William Harry and Lillian Elizabeth (Seidelmann) Hoffman. Beloved husband for 52 years of Loretta J. (Mosley) Hoffman; loving father of Robert George Hoffman (Laura) of Moon Township and Gregory James Hoffman (Amy) of Coraopolis; cherished grandfather of Jessica, Nicole, Kayla, Hayden, Mackenzie, Hannah, and Madeline; great-grandfather of Aubrey and Kylie; brother of Betsy Knouse (Ken) of Coraopolis, Carol Hutchinson (Alan) of Raleigh, NC and the late William H. Hoffman and Nanette F. Smith; brother-in-law of Barbara Hoffman of Allison Park and William Smith of Rochester. Bob was a very active member of St. Stephen's Church, where he served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, trained the acolytes for 20 years, was involved in the Towers ministry for 20 years, and was elected twice to the vestry. For 44 years, he had worked at Homestead Valve as an accountant in management and also served on their board of directors. He was a member of the Masons for 60 years, Doric Lodge, Sewickley, and also a Shriner. He was a 1944 graduate of Sewickley High School and obtained his B.S. in Business Administration from Duquesne University. Visitation Sunday, August 17, 2014, 2-4, 7-9 p.m., with Masonic Service at 7:30 p.m. at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Rd. Everyone please meet at St. Stephen's Church, 405 Frederick Ave., Sewickley, PA 15143, for Funeral Service on Monday, August 18, 2014, at 10 a.m., light refreshments will follow. A brief repast will follow. Officiating will be Rev. Bill Henry. Burial in Sewickley Cemetery.
