Robert HOFFMAN Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Mar. 7, 2013.
HOFFMAN, Robert (Bob) James
Passed away peacefully on March 4, 2013 at the age of 82 years. Bob was a long-time resident of Abbotsford, B.C. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Joan Susanna Hoffman; his children Jane (Brian) Baker Wheeler, Carolyn Hoffman Morneau, Robert Thomas James Hoffman; and nine grandchildren Glen, Gordon, Raymond, Shaun, Derek, Courtney, Morgan, Hudson, Hunter; and three great-grandchildren Gabriel, Sawyer, Callie. Bob was an avid businessman and a fellow who did not like to sit still, from investing in the stock market to growing raspberries and running his own hobby farm. Bob was the Training and Apprenticeship Counsellor with the Government of BC for 20+ years, a job he truly enjoyed, helping young people get on their feet in a career. Bob served in the Army, in the Princess Patricia Canadian Light Infantry in the Korean War of which he was very proud. Bob, Dad and Papa will be very sadly missed by his family and friends, but we treasured the time we had with him. A Funeral Service for Bob Hoffman will be held this Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Boal Chapel, First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, followed by interment at North Vancouver Cemetery. After which a luncheon in his honour will be held at the Boal Chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.

Sorry for your loss. It is always hard to lose a parent. Take time to take care of each other. Thanks Jane, for bringing Uncle Bob to see Mom and I in Calgary. We had a nice visit.
