On June 6, 2015 at the age of 88, one day before his 89th birthday. Cherished husband of 65 years to Lee (Burger). Devoted and loving father to Peter (Carol 1998), Kitty Kiborn-Klaskow (Dave), and Robert. Doting grandfather to Caroline Kiborn, Edward Robert Zapor (2003), and Anna Catherine Zapor. Caring uncle to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Frank and Marie Kiborn, father in law Peter Burger, sister Shirley Beatty and brother Carl Kiborn.
Born in Windsor, Bob attended Assumption College, McMaster University, and Osgoode Hall, and was called to the Bar in 1951. After six years of private practice, Bob spent 34 years with Chrysler Canada, the majority as Vice President, Corporate Secretary, and General Counsel. Mr. Kiborn was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1970.
Bob was very interested and active in community service. He served on the board of Hotel Dieu Hospital for over 30 years including 16 years as Chairman. Other boards included Transit Windsor, Royal Trust, Windsor Community Orchestra, Riverside Kiwanis Club, and YMCA. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus. Among his many interests were bridge, hockey, spy novels, golf, and curling at Beach Grove and the Windsor Curling Club. Above all, Bob's first priority was always his family. Visitation on Wednesday from 3:00- 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Bishop J.T. Kidd, Council 4924 Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:15 p.m. followed by Parish Prayers at 7:30 p.m. at
