Robert L Knefelkamp

Robert Leroy Knefelkamp, 71, of Casa Grande, Arizona passed away on October 31, 2013. He was born in Chapman, Nebraska to Roy and Erma Knefelkamp (Helmbrecht). Bob grew up in Grand Island, NE with his brothers Lamoine and Keith. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and remained a life long Cornhusker fan. After graduation, he served in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant stationed in Pleiku, Vietnam. Bob was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service and was honorably discharged in 1969. He returned home and started a family with his wife, Judy. They raised their three children in Aurora, Colorado and moved to Phoenix in 1989. Bob worked for many years as a Marketing Manager in the mining industry before retiring in Casa Grande. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather ("Papooh"). Bob enjoyed cheering on the Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos. He was an avid card player who loved teaching his children and grandchildren how to play. His smile and sharp wit will be dearly missed.


Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judy; children Kimberly (Michael), Craig, and Sarah (Patrick); brothers Lamoine and Keith (Vonda); and four loving grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, December 9th at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Lutheran Church, 11002 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85044.
