One of the best handshakes and hugs I ever received was from Bobby when I returned from combat operations in the Persian Gulf in 2003. Bobby, thank you for your friendship, your smiles and stories, but most importantly, thank you for the memories.

I've known Bobby for many years, can't remember the first time we ever met. In the 80's and 90's I was a officer for Abate of Indiana and collected toys for the Jackson county toys for tots program at Christmas.Every year my largest donor by far was Bob Lonowski.Bob never wanted any credit for himself or Big Blue, always saying that it wasn't truely a gift if he got publicity for it.Well Bob I have let the cat out of the bag for you on this one, every year dozens of children had a brighter Christmas because of your kindness.May the Lord be with your family in their time of sorrow.

I met Bob at IU. We lived in the same hall in Ferguson house. He and Steve Goins were joined at the hip in those days. They were a fun pair who were always happy. Bob and I lost touch after IU but I'll always have fond memories of him. Bob, RIP.

The SHS Class of 1980 has lost another member. So sad. "Camaroman" [as Bob was known 30 years ago because of his cool car] will be missed by a lot of us. Bob was so sad for so long after Melvin died, now he can be reunited with his father. RIP Bob.

Bob and I grew up in the same neighborhood and it was like having a younger brother. His family considered me part of his family and Bob was my best man. Even though our paths lead us in different directions I still consider him as one of my closest friends. I'm sure we will meet again! God Bless.

I met Bob my freshman year at IU as he lived just across the hall from me that year as well as our sophomore year. Though I hadn't kept in touch with Bob through all these years this is truely sad news. I always remember Bob as being so happy go lucky in those days and always trying to figure out a new lick on his guitar which he was actually very good at doing. A great guy that I know those of use from Ferguson house will always remember.
