Dear Kathi and Family,

I heard the news today from George Carpenter, of Bob's passing. I am so sorry for your loss and extend my sympathy and prayers.

Bob was an extraordinary person who was gifted with fine abilities of many kinds, and whose caring for children, family and friends was his guide and sustenance in all things. He was always so faithful to the cause of doing right for kids and for public schools.

God bless all of you and I will keep you and Bob in prayers.

Dear Kathi and family,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that Bob had passed away. From the very first day that my son Mark attended Monument School we knew that we would come to care very deeply about Bob who was so welcoming and friendly. All of the years that I worked together with him on the various school boards,I knew that I could always count on him for his knowledge, support, and his total child focused orientation, never failing there.I offer you my love, and thoughts of support, and regret that I am not able to go to Bennington to embrace you all.I shall always keep you in my thoughts.
With love,

Kathi, Than, Jay & Collen:

I was stunned to hear of Bob's passing. Bob heard the call from God and knew that his mission was complete here on this earth and now it was time to be with his God. This is a very difficult time in all of your lives. Each of you had a very unique and special relationship with the same wonderful man. He led by example, and what an example it was. There will never be another Robert Marcoux, but he will live on in his family and the example that they live their life by.

Jason, you have had some very difficult times in your young life and you made it through them with such strength. The best gift you can give your father is to raise Alexander as you were raised and he will become a wonderful man like you and your Dad.

Than, you have now become the man of the family(next in line) I believe that you will carry out that role with your Dad by your side guiding you through things. Know that he will always be a part of who you are.

Collen, When you married Than, Bob got the daughter that he always wanted. You are a wonderful gift to the Marcoux family.

Kathi: I am so sorry for your loss, so sudden and unexpected. I can say without hesitation I know what that feels like. Bob will always be a part of who you are as you continue your journery on this earth. You have two wonderful chidren who will stand by you and be there for you. I'm sure that you will see Bob in the boys, what a wonderful gift Bob gave you in those boys.

As a young, just-out-of-college teacher in the BSD in 1975, I had only met Bob a few times...but WOW, what an impression he made! If you had mentioned my name to him, no doubt he would say "who"?! ---- but among us "newbies" the buzz was that he was the star to watch. I wish I had the opportunity to be under him when he was a principal. I am sure he will be greatly missed.

best wishes
