Shawnee resident, Robert “Bob” Quinton, 63, died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 in Oklahoma City.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 5 in the Chapel of Walker Funeral Service with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
Bob was born September 16, 1957 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Robert Ray & Cleo (King) Quinton. He graduated from El Dorado High School.
For 19 years he was a co-unit manager for Jewel Osco Grocery in New Mexico, until moving to Oklahoma in 1998, where he worked at Homeland and Lowe’s till he became a manager at Staples.
In 1979 he married Carolyn Sue Romero, and they were married for 31 years, until they divorced in 2010.
He was in The Thunderbird Club. He loved to race his Thunderbird, his nickname was “Hot Rod”. He loved working on cars and building stuff for his family.
Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Cary, and his grandparents.
He is survived by 2 daughters and 1 son, Kristina Derr and Drake Peterson of Juneau, Alaska, Ashley & Trey Hasbell of Shawnee, and Robby & Cassie Quinton of Tecumseh; his mother, Cleo Quinton of Shawnee; 1 brother, Steve Quinton of Shawnee, 9 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
