Robert Wilroy Obituary

Robert David Wilroy Jr. died Tuesday, November 2, 2010. Born April 28, 1957, he was the beloved son of Robert David Wilroy Sr., and Marian Cocke Wilroy. He graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1975, received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Clemson University in 1981 and was a licensed professional engineer in South Carolina.
Mr. Wilroy was employed with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. of Greenville South Carolina, and previously with J.E. Sirrine Engineers. He worked on numerous major pulp and paper plants in the southeast. He was an avid sailor and member of the Western Carolina Sail Club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilroy is survived by his sister, Jane Wilroy Trinkley, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Virginia and Texas.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, November 5, 2010, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial following in Greenlawn Memorial Park, both in Columbia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home between 6 and 8 p.m. Thursday, November 4, and other times at the home of his parents. A memorial service to be held in Greenville will be announced at a later date.

My deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers are with the Wilroy family. Bob was a great friend in our highschool and college days. I was shocked to hear of his untimely death and will forever remember his passionate spirit.
