Roger Holder

Roger Holder, 88, husband of Barbara Jean Robinson Holder passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Oconee Memorial Hospital. Roger was born in Manhattan, NY, a son of the late McAlister and Atheline Bayne Holder. He was a first-generation American born of parents from Barbados. He was a proud US Air Force veteran and was honorably discharged in January 1960. He met and married Barbara Jean Robinson. Their union last for over 59 years of happiness and joy. He worked at the United States Postal Service for 32 years where he oversaw all foreign mail entering the US in Manhattan office until he retirement from the service. He loved his family and was an encourager for all. He stressed positivity and the need for education. Surviving are his wife of 59 years; sons, Michael Roger Holder of Greenville and Rev. David Anthony Holder and wife, Charla of Bound Brook, NJ; grandchildren, Craig Michael Carter and wife Chrystal, David Robert Holder and Davion Charles Holder. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by a sister. Funeral services will be 1 PM, Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Rd., Central, SC. The family will receive friends starting at 12 noon, Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will take place in the family plot in Brooklyn, NY.
