Roger Knapp Obituary
March 21, 1927 - January 31, 2019
Roger T. Knapp, born to Harry J. Knapp and Ruth (Bockman) Knapp in Decatur, Indiana on March 21, 1927 passed on January 31, 2019. Roger was predeceased by his brother
Richard. He graduated Purdue University class of 1949. Roger moved east to find his fortune, working in Cincinnati for a time and, ultimately, to New Jersey, where he was an industrial
supply salesman into his 80s. Upon retirement Roger moved to Stockton, California to be close to his family. He was known for his 3 times daily walks around O'Connor Woods. When asked how he was, his
reply: "Charming." Cheers to
Roger for a long, productive, and enjoyed life - He will be missed. Roger is survived by his son, Larry Knapp (Pamela), daughter, Debbie Knapp, and grandchildren Christina Foskey, Howard Knapp, Brittney
Williams, Catherine Knapp, Megan Williams, and 2 great-granddaughters.
Friends and family are invited to
St. Catherine Chapel at
O'Connor Woods on Friday,
February 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM to share memories of Roger and to celebrate his life. Donations in memory of Roger can be made to the Linden Lions Club, 5041 N. Market St.,
Linden, CA 95236, or to the
O'Connor Woods Resident
Assistant Fund.

I remember Roger giving me a demo file set. I still have and use the set, it makes me smile.

Myself and my colleague often reflect on our memories of Roger, commenting on what a great person he was and his commitment to his customers. I looked forward to our visits, as he often offered sage advice. I learned from him and miss him.

I knew Roger from when I worked for St. Joseph´s Hospital. He was a great man, I often reflect on our many conversations and interactions. As it turns out, one of my colleagues knew Rodger as well. We are 100 miles west in Pennsylvania now, so I guess that would make him famous.
I repaired two aluminum chairs for him, he is truly missed. They don´t makem´ like that anymore. Godspeed

Because of moving from Westfield NJ It has been 39 years since I saw or spoke to Roger but I have wonderful memories. As a former President of The Ys Men's Club of Westfield I remember Roger joining the club and being a very active member. We used to have board meetings at his house in Scotch Plains. Roger was very committed to his salesmen's position and an overall really good guy.
