Roland Albert Cormier, 56, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2018 at home with his loved ones after a long battle with COPD and heart disease. He was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on August 1, 1961 to Leo Cormier Sr. and Pauline (Lemoyne) Cormier.
Roland is survived by his loving wife Cheri of 35 years. They were married on September 18, 1982. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Cheri Cormier of Rochester; sister Claire Cormier of Rochester; sister Madeleine Caouette of Rochester; sister Jae Duntley and husband Tim Duntley of Rochester; brother Leo Cormier Jr. and wife Kim Cormier of Milton; sister Denise Arno and husband Harold Arno of Nottingham; brother Marc Cormier of Rochester; daughter Jessica Cormier Dwinells of Rochester; daughter Melissa Cormier June of Rochester; granddaughter Danica June; grandson Ethan Dwinells; and many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Roland was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Pauline Cormier and his brother in law Arthur Caouette.
Roland enjoyed going to concerts, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, playing darts and being the most amazing husband, brother, uncle, friend, father and grandfather he could be. His life changed before he knew it 12 years ago when he became a Papa. This was a prized title for him, as he lived for every moment he was able to spend helping care for his grandchildren. He spent many days painting fingernails, mastering braids, giving baking lessons and being Papa’s Taxi.
The Cormier/Dwinells/June family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at Cornerstone VNA and to Dr. Reall, who provided the most amazing care to Roland until hours before he passed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Roland’s name to Cornerstone VNA, 178 Farmington Rd, Rochester NH 03867.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 5-7pm with a service to be held at 7pm in the chapel of the H. J. Grondin & Son Funeral Home, 177 N. Main Street, Rochester, NH.

Roland, I always wanted your tiny nose and your sparkly eyes. You are my brother and my friend. Words cannot express how much I will miss you, how much I love you. Your last words to me on Monday were... "keep the faith sister". I did and I do and I will. I am not a sportsman, but because you loved darts so much, I will learn the rules and do my best to get the bulls eye. Don't laugh at me from Heaven when the dart veers off into the pool. Sleep and rest well my lovely brother.

I'm trying to wrap my head around you being gone and it's like it won't let me go there! Of course we have the memories of us growing up, young adulthood, marriage, children, etc. but I must say that the last few months have been my favorite! Reminiscing, laughing, making some of your favorite dinners and just watching TV in silence have been wonderful. I love you and miss you already, as does Harold, Nikki and Cory. I feel you all around, thank you! Don't worry, we'll be there for Cheri, Jess, Liss and Danica. There's a huge hole in the family that time will heal but never be the same! Till we see each other again, I love you and will see you in my dreams!
