Rolland Deitte Obituary
Scottsdale - Rolland (Rollie) Joseph Deitte passed away at the age of 87 on February 18, 2019 at his home in Scottsdale, AZ surrounded by his loving family. He was born to George and Leona (Wagner) Deitte on September 3, 1931 in Fond du Lac, WI. Rollie grew up in Fond du Lac and graduated from Goodrich High School. He served in the Air Force and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. When he returned from serving his country, he began working in the family business - Edith's Bridal. After 15 years of working for the company, he purchased Edith's. During these years, he worked tirelessly for his community. He served as president of the Association of Commerce and was a member of Rotary. He made a huge impact on the community with his civic leadership. In 1989, Rollie married the love of his life, Sharon Senger. For several years, they resided in Fond du Lac watching their family grow. In 1991 they chose to leave the WI winters, and moved to Phoenix, AZ where they have lived for the past 28 years enjoying beautiful sunrises and sunsets together. After moving to Arizona, Rollie pursued a new career and obtained his real estate license. He advanced quickly and became a partner in a large commercial real estate company. He was dedicated to his work and retired at the age of 79. He had a special gift of working with people and helping them be successful and believe in themselves. He was a loving, kind and gracious man who supported and encouraged his children to achieve their goals and dreams with his unconditional love. He was their hero, inspiration and number one fan. Rollie truly loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of his children and grandchildren. He continues to be an inspiration to everyone who knew him. Rollie is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, and his children who were his pride and joy: four daughters, Lori Deitte (Mark Rice), Mary Wendt (Mike), Lisa McCarty, and Judy Culshaw and one son, Dan Deitte (Jennifer Mahan-Deitte) and a step-son John, who was like a son to him, his grandchildren (Mikey, Vicki, Ashley, Kevin, Scott, Amanda, Tony, Brian, Tommy, Katie, Kelly, Ivy, Sienna, and Olivia) and many beautiful great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Leona, his step mother, Ceil, his two brothers, Ken and Elmer, his sister in law, Rose, his nephew, Mark and his granddaughter, Melissa. This world was made a better place by all of those who were blessed to have him touch their lives. He will never be forgotten. Blessed be his memory and his gentle soul. A celebration of life and memorial service will be held in Fond du Lac at a later date. Rollie's final resting place will be in the Ledgeview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

My dear Rollie Thinking of you today and missing you as I always will. I have so many memories of you and they are all wonderful. My very first memory was sitting on your lap when I was maybe 4 years old, listening to an Elvis Presley recording (we both had good taste in music!) Throughout the years of being my brother-in-law, I always looked up to you as an amazing male role model. You set the standard high. You brought out the very best in all of us. As a father, you raised 5 amazing individuals who carry on with your legacy of love. You were one in a million Rollie, and I was so blessed to have you in my life. Thank you for your kindness, your humor, your loving ways...and that excellent voice of yours...Frank Sinatra was proud!!

Lori, Mary, Judy and Dan I was friends with Rollie and we worked together for almost fourteen years in Business Brokerage. We remained friends for 23 years and I will always consider him my friend and will never forget him. From the first day I started at World Class Investments Rollie and I became friends and he was always there for me with encouragement and help. He always spoke highly of his children and was very proud of all of you. I wish I would have had the opportunity to meet all of you. Sharon was the best thing that ever happened to your Dad. I have so many fond memories of Rollie. When I was a little girl, I thought that my "big brother" was so cute and kind...I adored him. Rollie hired me to work at Ediths when I was 15 and I worked there for 6 years. At that time all of the employees were women and Rollie had such respect for all of them. He used to hold weekly Saturday morning employee meetings (complete with coffee and donuts!) and hew would listen attentively to everyone's input and suggestions. He was so charming and he put everyone at ease. I remember one Christmas when he received an audio recording device. He had a great voice and he wanted me to sing harmony with him. I didn't have a great voice :) but he convinced me that I did and we recorded that song! My best memories actually are of the relationship that he had with my mom and dad. He was a "pal" to my dad who was a quiet man and thought of Rollie as his son. He treated my mom with such tenderness and she loved him so.
Rollie had such a positive impact on everyone who knew him, certainly my family. We all will miss him but our memories will keep him alive for us...may he rest in peace in heaven. Love, Sheila and Les Pottern

I have so many beautiful memories of this loving man, my "big brother". He had an incredible sense of humor and adventure and made everyone that he knew feel special and respected. How blessed I have been to know him..he was truly a man who had such a positive impact on my life and I am forever grateful.
Rollie was devoted to his family and I continue to be blessed to share love with his incredible kids and his wonderful wife, Sharon.

Rollie, you were like a big brother to me since I was very young. I have loved you like a brother then and always will. I, along with so many family and friends, will miss your smiling face and your loving ways.
My condolences to his precious children, whom he loved so much, Lori, Mary, Judy, Lisa and Dan. Also to his loving wife, Sharon. His spirit will be with us forever.
