Ronald Farber Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 9, 2023.
Sadly we mourn the passing of Ronald M. Farber, 58, of Northford, CT. Born June 13, 1964, he was the son of Charlotte Farber of Aventura, FL and the late Burton Farber. Growing up in Hamden among a neighborhood of great friends, Ron became the founder of Elegant Events Catering and then the chef/owner of several establishments in CT and the Saratoga Springs, NY area. Everyone will miss his larger than life personality and his great stories, told in a way only Ron could.

He is survived by his siblings, Stuart and Donna Farber of Westport, CT, Beth Farber and Mitchell Shakun of Bloomfield, CT, Michael and Jacqueline Farber of Northford, CT, Amy Farber of Branford, CT and Sharon and Jack Neubieser of Southington, CT. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and grand nephews and niece, Danielle Farber and Jeff MacDonald, Arielle Farber and Art Cady, Whitney Farber, Jeremy, Max and Lily Shakun, Tyler and Brenner McKinley, Ryan and Jared Gallagher, Grant and Sloane Cady and Wesley MacDonald. His memory will live on in many great friends from throughout the years, especially the Kerzner Family, Rich Seltzer and Brian Schatz.

"There is a road, no simple highway between the dawn and the dark of night…and if you go, no one may follow, that path is for your steps alone"

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday morning (TODAY) May 9 at 10:30 at the Robert E. Shure & Son Funeral Home, 543 George Street, New Haven with an interment at approximately 12:45 at Beth El Cemetery, 51 Jackson Street, Avon, CT. Shiva will follow the burial at the home of Jeremy Shakun, 174 Brewster Road, West Hartford, CT and again on Wednesday from 12 PM. Donations can be made to the Ronald M. Farber PACE Memorial Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven, 360 Amity Road, Woodbridge, CT 06525. Just heard today of crossing over of Ronnie- so sad had such a passion and zest 4 life and fellow Gemini incredibly sad. Just saw Ronnie @ John Lucarellis home in Florida and he complimented on delish Pizzeria Sophia food I had brought them from restaurant. He loved the pizza and coming from Ronnie that compliment was the ultimate since he was such an accomplished restauranteur. Great guy another one gone too soon rest in heaven and know you are sorely missed by many many people whos lives you touched by just being you. I am so sad to hear of Ronnie´s passing. He was a good friend to all, with a big heart and a terrific sense of humor. We first met at Dine Restaurant. I liked him immediately. He became great friends with my family. My daughter worked for him. My Ex was his bartender. Dine was the go to restaurant for a long time. People went there for the great food and for Ronnie´s magnetic personality. Bigger than life and always smiling. Later. It was 8 Tables and others after that. The Saratoga crowd followed his restaurants but it was more about Ronnie, who drew people in. I know many will miss him, most of all, his family about whom he spoke, and deeply loved. There is so much more I could say, so many stories and memories. We all have them, but I will leave it at this: Ronnie, you are gone too soon , but you left your imprint. God Bless you.
