Ronald Duane Kidman –

Age 83, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 22, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 57 years; his five children, Duane (Hildy), Darold (Sonia), Diana (Todd) Spangler, Denise (Ryan) Murphy, and Devin (Negar); sixteen grandchildren; one great grandchild; one niece, and three nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Dolores (Kidman) Fermelia. He was born on a ranch in Rock Springs, Wyoming to Orson Grange and Margaret (Motichka) Kidman on June 14, 1935. He was the younger of two children. He acquired his strong work ethic and skills as an auto mechanic while working at his father's Standard Oil filling station growing up. Ronald married Lillian Carol Bollman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on July 15, 1961. He graduated with honors from the College of Engineering at the University of Wyoming, Laramie, receiving his Bachelor's of Science degree in 1958. He continued at the University, teaching physics-engineering, as he earned his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering the following year. After graduation, Ronald worked for three years as an electrical engineer at Collins Radio Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, followed by three years at Bendix Aviation Corporation in Davenport, Iowa, before settling down in Jackson, Michigan where he worked thirty-one years at Spartan Electronics. Ronald enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting, handwriting analysis, and was an avid card player. He was also involved with Boy Scouts, the Lumen Christi Titan Club, and enjoyed attending his children's sports and activities. A mass will be held to honor his life on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church (606 S. Wisner Jackson, 49203) at 10:30am.
