Ronald Kleiser Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 6, 2022.
August 25, 1933 - March 24, 2022 Ronald P. Kleiser passed from this world on March 24, 2022, in Garden Grove, California. His life's journey began in Elgin, Illinois on August 25, 1933, where he was born the 7th of ten children to William and Margaret (Sauer) Kleiser. His education began at Saint Lawrence Catholic Grade School and continued at Saint Edward High School, graduating with the class of 1951. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June of 1953 and was assigned to the 5th. Signal Corp. 5th Infantry Division as a signal message clerk. He was granted an honorable discharge in May of 1955 with the rank of Private First Class. During his tour of duty, he spent time in Germany which gave him an opportunity to visit the homeland of his grandparents, George and Bertha Kleiser, who emigrated to America in 1893. After his time in the military, he traveled to California. He also spent several years in Washington state where he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and the proprietor of a small restaurant. Upon his return to California, he continued his employment with the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. With an eye for creativity, "Ronnie" took classes in stained glass, taught himself the art of clock making, as an ancestor had done long before him, and eventually found his niche when he took up the brush and oils to paint on canvas the beauty he saw around him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Lorraine Fritz Fischer and Theresa Koppie, brothers Howard, Wilfred (Ethel), Norbert (Lucille), and Robert (Midge), and a sister-in-law, Inge. He is survived by brothers: James (Chela) of Thousand Oaks, California and Thomas of Necedah, Wisconsin, sister Margaret (David) Edwards of Dundee, Illinois, brother-in-law Chad Koppie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California. "Ronnie" was a kind and generous soul, a lover of music, gardening, the written word, and the gifts of "Mother Nature". Though his journey here in our world has ended he will live on in the hearts of those who love him. He will be remembered, he will be missed.
