RONALD LEWIS

ALTON — Ronald Eugene Lewis, 67, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 at his home in Alton after a long battle with cancer.

Born Dec. 18, 1949, in Wood River Hospital, he was the son of Eugene E. and Bette J. (Allsman) Lewis.

He worked for Owens Illinois Glass for many years in both Alton and in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and later at Alton Mental Health Center in Alton for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jeana, and son and his wife, Mike and Natalie Lewis of Hartford, two grandchildren, Brittani (Damon) Melton and Allison; two great-grandchildren, Addison Melton and Cayson Lewis, and his father, Eugene E. Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard A. Lewis on Nov. 3, 1993, and his mother, Bette J. (Allsman) Lewis on Dec. 4, 2014.

Visitation was from 9 until time funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Randy Butler officiated. Internment with no service was held later at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
