Ronald E. Savage, age 71, of North Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at DeGraff Memorial Hospital under the care of Niagara Hospice. A resident of North Tonawanda for the past 42 years, he was the son of the late John and Ina (nee Semon) Savage and brother of the late Nancy (the late Ted) Urbaniak. A 1955 graduate of Tonawanda High School and a graduate of the University of Buffalo, he served in the US Air Force during the late 1950's. He had been employed by Columbus McKinnon Corp. for 18 years and was also employed by H and R Block in North Tonawanda. He also taught Computer Skills at NCCC and in the Ken Ton School District. Ron was an avid golfer and a member of Deerwood Mens Golf Club for many years.He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary M. (nee Roth) Savage; two daughters, Dawn (Robert) Preston of the Tw. of Tonawanda and Rhonda (Houston) Blackwell of New Caanan, CT; a grandson, Andrew Blackwell; a brother, James (Claudia) Savage of Moorsville, NC; and was a special "grandfather" of Heather, Chelsea and James of North Tonawanda; also survived by many nieces and nephews.Friends may call Thursday only from 3-8 PM at John 0. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan and Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Funeral services will be conducted in Tonawanda Church of Christ, cor. of Delaware and Summit Sts. in Tonawanda, Friday at 11 AM. Friends invited. The Rev. Kenneth D. Wood will officiate. A private interment will be in Elmlawn Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. we were not able to work together,

I am truly saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I knew him from H&R Block and always looked forward to working with him. He was always willing to help me and offer advice when I had tax questions. Ron was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed.
