Rosanne Strucinski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 2, 2024.
Rosanne Baskir Strucinski peacefully left this Earth on April 16, 2024 to start her next journey at age 88. A resident of Mill Valley, Rosanne (Ro) was born in New York City, NY into the loving family of Rubin (Ruby) Baskir, Clara (Lutchansky) Baskir and brother, Manny (Emanuel) Baskir.

As a free-spirited teenager, Rosanne hitchhiked from Brooklyn, NY to Mill Valley, CA. She often shared stories of this roguish adventure and her time performing in San Francisco theater where she met the love of her life, Mitchell (Mitch) Strucinski. Rosanne and Mitch married and established their home in Menlo Park, CA where Rosanne prospered, building life-long friends, caring for others, and volunteering.

Ro's passions included gardening, hiking, traveling, theater, music and promoting social justice. After earning her degree in Speech Pathology from San Francisco State University, Ro served for 27 years as a speech therapist in the South San Francisco Unified School District. After retiring, she returned to Mill Valley in 2011 and actively engaged in the Redwoods community. At the Redwoods, Ro enjoyed working in the garden, walking the marsh, taking tai chi and drumming classes, and participating in Mill Valley Seniors for Peace.

Rosanne's warmth and connection touched many. She will be deeply missed by her many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Ro is preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, and brother.

A celebration of life will be held from 1-3p on August 10, 2024 at The Redwoods, Mill Valley, CA. Donations can be made to The Redwoods or Mill Valley Seniors for Peace .
