Roy Eugene Hunt, 94, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday January 30, 2023. Roy was one of the most admirable people you could ever meet and lived an amazing life full of accomplishments. He was a professional baseball player, geologist, engineer, and even a WWII Veteran. Roy was a geotechnical legend! He graduated from Columbia with a master’s degree in soil mechanics and a foundation in engineering. Roy also graduated from Upsala College with a bachelor’s degree in geology and physics.
Roy is survived by his loving wife Marilia Hunt. He is also survived by his 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Colonial Funeral Home- 2170 Highway 88, Brick with a service at 7PM. Cremation will be private.

Rest in peace Grandpa Roy. Bruce and Bella will always remember the trips you made out to visit with them while we were in Arizona, Wyoming, and Texas. We will miss all your stories, shared memories, photos, and love of chocolate-chocolate cake(s).

To Lee and the Hunt family..I am so sorry to hear of Roy's passing. He was a wonderful man and I know his accomplishments will never be forgotten.
