Mr. Roy Christian Klostermeyer, 80, of Morganton, died Wednesday February 10, 2010 at Grace Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Klostermeyer was born December 24, 1929 in St. Louis, Mo. to the late Roy C., Sr. and Dorothy June Shaffner Klosterneyer . Mr. Klostermeyer was a faithful member of Bella Vista Baptist Church, Bella Vista, Ark., and had retired as V.P. from XIM Products, Inc. He was a former member of the Moose Club and the Elks Club. Roy had a great sense of humor and loved to be around people and everyone loved to be around him. He was an avid sports fan, having played professionally as a lineman for the Cleveland Browns Football team.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Labaddie, and his second wife, Mary Irene Hesley.
Surviving are his wife, Juanita Rawlins Johnson Klostermeyer of the home, his children, Roy Klostermeyer, III and wife Beverly of Calif., William F. klostermeyer of Ohio, Robert R. Klostermeyer and wife Glenda of Mo., James D. Klostermeyer and fianc'e Kathy Lawson of Connelly Springs, NC, Kathy Bender and husband Eric of Ohio and Thomas Klostermeyer of NC., step-children, Paul Johnson and wife Amy of Col., Timothy Johnson and wife Selina of Ark. and Scott Johnson of NC. Also surviving are his grandchildren, James, Jr, Kelsey, Eric, Sarah, Megan, Elizabeth, step-grandchildren Kayla, Kyle, Michael, Sarah, Lyndsey, Max, Kohen, Vance and Maia and his great grandchildren, Logan and James III.
A Service of Remembrance for Mr. Roy C. Klostermeyer will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday February 15, 2010 in the Wilkie's Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Ray Raymer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, Boone, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at Wilkie's Grove Baptist Church.
