Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at Waters-Powell Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Streett was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late Edward L. and Alice B. Byrd. She finished training at the McLeod Infirmary School of Nursing and became a registered nurse in April 1942. She worked for the McLeod Infirmary Hospital for many years and later started private duty nursing. She was a member of the American Nurses Association, the South Carolina Nursing Association and was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Streett was preceded in death by her sisters, Mrs. T. F. George, Mrs. Leland Hewitt, Mrs. W. H. Caulder and Mrs. Effie Richardson.
Survivors include three sons, C. Weldon (Donna) Streett of Thonotosassa, Fla., Rowland C. (Jeannie) Streett and Kenneth W. (Lynda) Streett both of Florence; granddaughters, Shelley (Steve) Grindstaff of Jacksonville, Fla., and Kayla Miles of Florence; grandsons, Brian (Teena) Streett of Morganton, N.C., Chris Streett of Columbia and Brent Streett of Florence; step granddaughters, Kimberly Miles of Florence, Misty Cox of Darlington, Kelly Harrell of Florence and Lindsay (Jason) Patrick of Spartanburg; step grandsons, Jared D. Miles of Florence and Jay Harrell of Hartsville; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Olivia Grindstaff.
Memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice, 555 E. Cheves St., Florence, SC 29506.
