DARTMOUTH -- Russell "Russ" Carr Howland, age 90, of South Dartmouth, died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Lussier) Howland.
Born in South Dartmouth, a son of the late Gideon and Elvira (Carr) Howland, he had been a lifelong resident of South Dartmouth.
Mr. Howland was employed as a farmer and carpenter, which he enjoyed tremendously. He loved animals and was best known and remembered for his ingenuity and extreme generosity to his family.
He was a member of the Smith Neck Friends Meeting House.
Survivors include 3 Brothers, Steven Howland of So. Dartmouth, James Howland of So. Dartmouth and Gideon Howland of Florida; 1 Sister, Eleanor Johnson of Florida. Russ will be forever missed and loved by his niece, Barbara E. Coyle and her husband, Kevin R. Coyle of So. Dartmouth and their children, Britney Coyle and Sarah and her husband, Macy Korolnek; 4 Nephews, Gideon, Kenneth, Charles and Stephen Howland; 3 Nieces, Carol Lawrence, Beth Gauvin and Jane Rheaume; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was also Brother of the late Richard Howland.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2006, at 10 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 PM. Burial in South Dartmouth Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St., Natick, MA 01760. www.waring-sullivan.com
