I had the honor of hunting and fishing with Russ for many years. Sometimes we packed in on horseback to an elk camp in early November. You get to know a person really well when sleep in the same tent together while it's snowing outside for 10 days.

Russ was the best person I ever met. I can tell you he loved Tara deeply. The rest of his family too. He had a definite opinion on how things should be and he walked the line.

He was at ease with outdoors and nature. He loved cooking over an open fire, hiking all day long, setting up camp, climbing mountains, rowing drift boats, catching big steelhead, and telling great stories while sitting around camp.

Rusty, I miss you but know your trail is smoother now. You are in good hands!
