Ryan Meece

Ryan J. Meece, 34, of Yorkville, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Dwight United Methodist Church, 701 S. Columbia St., Dwight. His funeral will be 4 p.m. at the church, following visitation, with Pastor Terry Hennesy officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Dwight. Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Ryan was born Dec. 28, 1974, in Streator, to James D. and Sandra K. Marx Meece. They survive in Coal City. He married Trisha Higgs Dec. 29, 2000, in Dieterich. She survives in Yorkville. Ryan was a member of Oswego Presbyterian Church. He worked as a sales account manager at The Tennant Co. of Minnesota and attended school in Gardner and Coal City, graduating in 1993. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts at Eastern Illinois University, Charleston. Ryan was an avid sports fan and athlete and a devoted daddy. He was the best son anyone could ever have and he was a perfect husband. Surviving are his wife; in-laws, Max and Carol Higgs, Effingham; daughter, Kennedy Jordyn Meece, one year old; son, Keagan Jeffrey Meece, 3 years old; sister, Danielle (husband, Corey) Casey, Lanesville, Mo.; brothers-in-law, Brett (wife, Lynn) Higgs, Dieterich, Troy (wife, Leslie) Higgs, Effingham and Jeff (wife, Leslie) Higgs, St. Louis; sisters-in-law, Michelle (husband, Shane) Haslett, Beecher City and Ashley Higgs, Effingham; and grandfather, Andrew Probst.
