Horwitz, S. Harold (Hal), 75 of Richmond, VA, died on Monday, July 6 of complications from lung cancer. He was at home with his family. Hal was a pediatric dentist by profession, an avid photographer and botanist especially fond of native orchids, a pillar of the local and national Jewish community, and a strong supporter of Israel. Hal graduated from the University of Richmond and MCV Dental School, and served in the US Army at Ft. Benning, GA. During his life, Hal was recognized by many organizations in the dental, Jewish and botanical communities for his service and dedication. Most of all, Hal was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Hal is survived by his wife of 54 years, Helen Horwitz, their children Ricky Horwitz (and Caroline Horwitz), Joel Horwitz (and Cheri Marmarosh) and Debbie Horwitz (and Steve Shoyer)...
