Sadie Lee Whatley

Sadie Lee Whatley, 93, died Monday, May 3, 2011, at her home in Chowchilla, CA. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family. She was born August 16, 1917, in Stigler, Oklahoma, to Frank and Bessie Packer. She was baptised in 1962 by Troy Welch Sadie married Doc Whatley in 1936 in Oklahoma and moved to California in 1948. Her interests included family, gardening, quilting, and canning. She devoted much of her time and enery as caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away in 1967. She had unbelievable patience and an unspoken way of making each family member feel special. Sadie is survived by her brothers Dean and Farrel Packer; her sons Ben, Harvey, Carl, Cleve, Frankie, Jimmy, Leland, Jeff and Randy Whatley; her daughters Maxine Davis, Barbara Tarabini, Janice Quinn, Jeanette Hale, Annette Essman, Rene Whatley and Sherrie Cockrum; 59 grandchildren; 91 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents Frank and Bessie; her brothers Jim and Carl Packer; her sisters Gladys Peoples and Sylvia Hart; her son Kenneth Joe Whatlery; and her daughter Riki Parliman. Arrangements are with Palm Memorial Worden Funeral Chapel.
