Sally Kearnan Obituary

Sally L. Kearnan, 69, of Monongahela, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2001, in Mon Valley Hospital. Born June 1, 1932, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late William R. and Sara (Gulick) Smith. Ms. Kearnan worked for 10 years as a librarian for Akron Public Library. She graduated from Akron University with her B.S. and later received her Master's degree in Library Science from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a member of Monongahela Area Women's Club, a past president of the Monongahela Historical Society, past executive director of Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce, and a Friends of the Monongahela Area Library member. Surviving are her husband of 46 years James E. Kearnan; three sons, Phillip J. Kearnan of Huntington, Pa., Bruce E. Kearnan of Melrose, Mass., and Gregory W. Kearnan of Somerset, N.J.; two daughters, Lynne Anne Kearnan and Sara E. Smith, both of Royal Oaks, Mich.; one brother, William R. Smith of Galena Park, Texas; nine grandchildren, Patrick, Margaret, Edward, Walter, Kelly and Paige Kearnan and Bradley, David and Joseph Smith. Friends will be received in the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John Fierro officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions may be made to Monongahela Area Library, 813 West Main St., Monongahela, Pa. 15063.
