Samuel Meyers Obituary
Samuel was a member of Second Baptist Church and a graduate of Technical Memorial High School. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force. He was employed by the City of Erie Public Works Department for 31 years.
He was a member of Gem City Elks and American Legion Post 700. He loved to travel, loved sports and was a die-hard Cleveland Browns fan.
He loved his family dearly and always wanted the best for all of them.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Rev. Jeanette Myers and Willie Albert Meyers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Claritha Meyers "ReRe," three daughters Angel Carr, Charmane (Fred) Carr and Watissha Ward and one son Walter Ward, all of Erie, Pa., four sisters Carolyn (Robert Nathaniel) Jones, Anne (Wayne) Harbison, Carrie Jean (Anthony) Garlington, and Janet (Cecil) Roberts, all of Erie, three brothers James Cutter, William Tommy Myers of Erie, Pa. and Wilburt (Maria) Meyers of Butler, Pa., eight grandchildren, special mother-in-law Clara Ward and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and co-workers.
Friends may visit with the family at Second Baptist Church, 757 East 26th St., on Thursday, March 22nd, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. and the services will be at Second Baptist Church on Friday, March 23rd, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lamont Higginbottom Sr. officiating. Interment will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens. Professional services are entrusted to Pitts Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Avenue, Erie, PA 16504.

Re, I was shocked to read about Sam's passing. We were close all through grade school and high school. He was so kind and had a heart of gold. I will be sadden not to be able to see him at our high school reunion this year. Please known where you go he will be by your side and always in your heart. So sorry to hear of Sam's passing! I worked with him on many City of Erie negotiations. Sam was always one of the level headed Union Stewards on our negotiating committee. We negotiated several exceptional contracts with his help!

I knew Sam in High school, he was one of my friends I didn't have many I'll always remember his funny pleasant personality and yea sometimes mischievous we both were, many a time we had to run or get CAUGHT, REST IN PEACE BROTHER
