Samuel J. Pager

Samuel J. "Big Sam" Pager, 60, of North Charleroi, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2006, in his home. Born Jan. 29, 1946, in Monongahela, he was the son of the late Joseph and Katherine Milton Pager. He had worked for 30 years in the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union No. 354, retiring in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Marshalle Ross Pager, whom he married March 22, 1965; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Samuel D. and Rhonda Pager, of North Charleroi, Joseph Pager, of Newport News, Va., and Frank Pager, of Monessen; a daughter, Rhonda L. and Richard Smith, of West Newton; seven sisters and six brothers-in-law, Rose and William Posi, and Elaine Williams, all of Donora, Susan and John Gourn, of Monongahela (River Hill), Marlene and William Warren, of Carroll Township, Shirley and Dennis Day, of Bakersfield, Calif., Janet and Jack Trail, of Rostraver Township, and Carol and Rick Welch, of Charleroi; eight grandchildren, Adam J., Gavin L., Arianna, Julienna, Samuel T., Jace D. and Joey Lynn Pager, and Dalton Smith. Preceding him in death were two sisters, Katherine "Kathy" Wickerham and Sylvia Goins. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela (724-258-6767), from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Lynn Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery.
