Sandra "Sandy" Scaletta Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 15, 2024.
Sandra "Sandy" Kay Scaletta passed away on April 1, 2024, at the age of 62 after a long battle with Pancreatic cancer. Her final moments were spent peacefully in her home in Eau Claire, WI. Sandy was born on October 13, 1961, in DuPage County. Sandy had a beautiful smile and a love for birds. She very much enjoyed watching the TV show "Grace and Frankie" in fact it was the only show she watched her last two weeks. She loved listening to all kinds of different music genres, especially Elton John, Billy Joel, Queen, Prince and Adam Lambert. Her home was lovingly decorated with Navy Blue, adorned with fat chunky birds that represented her love for them.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Sarah (Brandon), sons, Charlie and Tim, her grandchildren, Tanner, Michaela, and Griffin, sister, Beth, as well as her nieces and nephew, Rachel (Shannon), Ryan, Jessie, Jenna, and Jordan. Also, her grand pups, Raina and Jasper. She was preceded in death by her Father, John Wesley Burdine (May 17, 2016), Mother, Barbara Ann (Mommsen) Burdine (Oct 20, 2008), and her siblings, Susan, Johnny, Kathy, and Sharon.

Sandy worked at a dental office in Illinois as a receptionist and billing specialist for most of her career before dedicating her time to caring for her children. Her hobbies included shopping, reading, attending concerts and plays with her family. Watching her sons play video games together, doing puzzles with her grandkids, dining out together at their favorite restaurants, and very much enjoyed going to her grandkids school functions with them.

A Celebration of Life, aka "Sandy now hates Purple Party" will be held on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, with details to be announced. Please, RSVP to [email protected] by May 28th, 2024, if you would like to attend so that we may pass on the details to you. Cards and/or flowers can be sent to family members if wanting to: Sarah Zilk at 812 Dover Street, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. Please note charitable donations can be made to her local Humane Society or to Pancreatic Cancer Research in honor of Sandy.

I really regret that I have been so far away from the extended family for many years and did not have more opportunities to share time with Sandy and the rest of the family. When I did visit, Sandy was fun and gracious. I am so sorry for your loss.
