Sandra Storlie Obituary

Published by Daily Record from Dec. 8 to Dec. 13, 2008.
Sandra Lee Storlie (Sandy) was born on November 6, 1949 to Paul and Charlotte Storlie in Ellensburg and went to join her father, brother, and sister in Heaven on December 6, 2008. Sandy was stubborn enough to fight cancer for almost 2 years, winning battle after battle, continuously surprising doctor after doctor, but is now finally taking her well deserved peaceful rest. Those of us who were honored enough to know Sandy know that she understood the meaning of unconditional love. She always put others before herself. She was a giver to all and it was very difficult for her to have to depend on others in her time of need. Sandy's home was always open to those who needed a place to eat or sleep. She loved her family more than life itself and within the last 3 years, she finally got the grandkids she always wanted. Sandy was always very creative and able to make something beautiful out of nothing at all. No matter what was going on with her, she was always able to lend a hand to others. At her time of passing, she was surrounded by her family. Yes, there were tears, but there were also smiles and laughs as we remembered her and enjoyed the grandkids running around. We all are comforted knowing that Sandy is at finally at peace and we know that God is on the throne and He is there with her.
Sandy is survived by sisters Debbie (David) Young and Linda (Bert) Peterson, her brother Tommy (Terri) Storlie and her mother Charlotte Storlie. Children include Robert Jeffrey McClure, Jamie Lee Zeller (Jason), and Heather Ann Storlie. The newest loves of her life were her grandchildren Abigail Rose Zeller, Garret Ryan Zeller, and Sarah Ann Shaw. Of course, there is extended family such as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Storlie, brother, Monty Storlie, and sister, Paulette Storlie.
A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church (306 N Sprague St) in Ellensburg at 2:00pm on Thursday, December 11, following a private family graveside service. Please come and share your memories of Sandy as we rejoice in her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kittitas County Hospice and/or Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. To share a memory of Sandy and view her battle from the beginning, go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/sandystorlie.
