Sarah Buchanan Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 15 to Jul. 17, 2022.
Sarah Lewis Buchanan was born in Wilmington, N.C.was raised in Orlando, FL from a young age. She lived most of her life in Orlando with her son, Mark A Manfredi, where she worked as a correctional officer till her retirement in 2001. Also, noteworthy she joined the New Jerusalem Church of God in 1982 where she fellowshipped with her late husband, Reverend Robert L Cummings. They worked very hard to bring families that lacked a home church to the open doors of New Jerusalem Church of God. It was their life mission to bring as many families into the church and spread the word of God's love. They were passionate about serving God. Finally, with the encouragement, guidance, and loving support of the late Bishop Hemingway, and the New Jerusalem Church of God they were humbly able to open another New Jerusalem Church of God in Deland, FL. This opportunity was another way to spread the word of God to more lost sheep and those needing a home church. Unfortunately, Robert died tragically. This was her one true love and she loved him very much. But, she continued doing Gods work, worshiping at her original home church. She befriended Classy and was her care taker until her death in her late 90's. Later on in life she moved to Calhoun, Georgia, to raise her granddaughter, Rosalee, around her cousins. Sarah's niece, Mary Rodriguez, lived in Calhoun, and was a great source of help in Sarah's decline in health. Sarah passed away peacefully, and surely God's love surrounded her as she shed her earthly body, and surely made her way to heaven. Sarah lived to serve the Lord, and she surely secured her place in the kingdom of God. We, as her family, know she is in heaven, because she has been preparing her whole life. May God comfort those that loved her. We ask that you join us at Baldwin Fairchild at Chapel Hill to celebrate her life at the memorial being held at 2420 Harrell Rd. Orlando, Florida 32817. If possible please text the name's and names of guest's coming, to Sarah's phone number
