Sarah Cheyenne Crawford age 18 of Osawatomie, KS died July 30, 2016 in Topeka, KS.

Cheyenne was born January 6, 1998 in Hanford, California to Jeffrey Spriggs & Janelta Crawford. When she was four, Cheyenne and her mom moved to Osawatomie. She attended preschool in Faith Baptist Christian Church and then started Kindergarten in the Osawatomie School district. Cheyenne finished 8th grade and then went into the alternative program from high school.

She was very loving and a free spirit. She was very outgoing and knew no strangers. When she was younger she would walk to the nursing home to visit with elderly people.  She had a big personality that was spunky and strong willed.

She was a beautiful girl, with long flowing hair, big blue eyes and a smile that was radiant. She would light up any room when she entered and everyone turned to look. Cheyenne loved fashion, accessories and getting all dolled up even though she was a natural beauty. She was a selfie queen and wanted whoever was around to join in.

In her free time, Cheyenne liked to swim and dance. Her favorite music to dance to was rap and hip- hop she was born with the rhythm to dance. She had a love for all animals.

Cheyenne didn’t always have the most perfect life, and maybe this was why she was such a loyal friend, there to talk with, a shoulder to cry on and to help any of her friends when they needed someone. Cheyenne often said she wished all of her friends were her brothers and sisters, she loved everyone.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Virginia Crawford.

Survivors include: mother Janelta Crawford of  Paola, KS, biological father Jeffrey Spriggs of Edgerton, Kansas, dad Scott Doty of Osawatomie, KS, siblings: Hannah Spriggs, Joshua Spriggs, Clarissa Spriggs, Joseph Williams and Haley Burgoon. Maternal grandfather Eldon Crawford of Chowchilla, CA, paternal grandparents Monty & Diana Spriggs of Gardner, KS. Along with other family members and numerous friends.

Words seem so feeble, in moments like these. Life is so precious, and death such a thief. The depth of your pain I cannot comprehend, but Ill stand alongside you in the darkness, my friend. Love is a bond that death cannot part. Gone from your arms, but still held in your heart.
- John Mark Green

I will never forget the way you laughed, the way your face lit up, the way your happiness could spread to anyone around you. You were my friend, but most importantly my sister.

Cheyenne was like my sister. She was always there to hold me when things got bad. I miss her so so much. I remember times where we would jump off my dads truck into my pool and he would get so so mad but we would all just laugh and do it again. Or that time we just sat on the porch and began to look at stars and just talk and ask eachother how are day was. Cheyenne is kind and caring. She loved alot of people!! I remember one time i met her friend and her friend asked " Whos that girl ?' And cheyenne would always say thats my little sister jorgia!! Cheyenne and I had a bond nobody could break. We stuck together through everything!! R.I.P Cheyenne I love so much and i will be thinking of u at my vollyball game tonight!!!! I hope u are having a amazing time in heaven!!!

We travel these roads and search for things to fill a hole in our hearts that will never be filled no matter how hard we try. The laughter, the joy, the sadness and tears, the good times and bad... they all are the things that come the closest to finally making us feel complete. Cheyenne gave many of those things to us all. She was the selfie queen, always on her phone taking pictures. Records of some of the greatest times and greatest friends and family. I cannot ever put into words the sorrow and sympathy I feel for every person that this beautiful soul had touched. She was a fun loving, caring, considerate, party hard, down for adventure kinda person and can never be replaced. I am lucky to have known her even if it was for a short time. I enjoyed her smile and sense of humor. My condolences to all of you that loved and cared about her, the family and the friends alike!!! God bless you all and may he carry you through these tough times.

Our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers for Janelta and her family. We were so saddened when we learned of this tragedy. We remember going to church with Janelta and her family when she was growing up in Caruthers.
Praying for the peace that only Christ can bring to the heart when we lose a precious loved one.
With love and sincerest prayers,

I didn't know this young lady or your family. But I wanted to extend my sincerest sympathies to this lady's family and friends.

When someone's taken unexpectedly the way she was, it rips a hole in your heart and spirit. And you wonder if you'll ever take a breath again.

But one day with the Lord's help, you'll be able to breathe. In the meantime, HOLD onto the Lord and remember He'll walk with you through the valley. He'll be right there to comfort you, HOLD you. I'll be praying for your family.
