Shannon Chamberlin Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 13, 2024.
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Shannon Harrison Chamberlin on June 10th, 2024, in Spring City, PA. Born on February 22nd, 1952, in Mobile, AL, Shannon touched the lives of many throughout her 72 years of life. She died peacefully at home surrounded by friends and family.

Shannon was a devoted bookseller at Ideas Bookstore for many years in Kimberton, PA, sharing her love of anthroposophical literature and knowledge with her community. Her passion for books and storytelling enriched the lives of those around her, as she helped foster a love of reading in customers both young and old, as well as providing a meeting place for many local activities.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Shannon was a cherished friend, offering unwavering support and kindness to those she held dear. Her commitment was evident in the many ways she extended a helping hand or a listening ear to those in need. Her adventurous, loving spirit brought her to many cultures and she lived in multiple countries throughout her life. She was also a gifted cook, gardener, and gentle shepherd of her many pets and sheep.

Shannon was predeceased by her beloved parents, the late William H. Harrison Jr. and Marjorie Alonzo Harrison. In her passing, Shannon is survived by her cherished daughter, Claire Chamberlin of New York, NY and her brother, William Henry Harrison III (Jeri) of Point Clear, AL as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 13th at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. In honor of her compassionate nature and the impact she had on the lives of others, memorial contributions may be made to The Christian Community of Devon, Pennsylvania and/or Carah Medical Arts, Phoenixville, PA. These organizations held a special place in Shannon's heart and will continue to serve as a testament to her generous spirit. Special appreciation goes to the many caregivers and friends who supported her with love and devotion throughout her illness.

One of my best friends in the early 2000s in Alabama. I always admired her soft spoken but honest evaluations. Her presence was a gift to me- I remember fondly the outings we shared.
