Shannon Lee Davis, 51 of Wilson passed away Friday, August 23, 2024. The family had a gathering of friends to celebrate his life on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 1 - 3 p.m. at Joyner's Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. Graveside service was held at 3:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson. Pastor Tim Parker officiated.

Shannon retired from Nash County Public School as a Maintenance Supervisor and worked at Barton College as Maintenance Supervisor. He loved sports, was an avid baseball fan and was an official for baseball and football and a big Tarheels fan. Shannon loved to work outside, especially in his garden. His family was the world to him, he was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. Shannon was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Shannon is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Carey Davis of the home; daughters, Hannah Davis Viverette and husband, Austin of Wilson, and Emma Grace Davis of Wilson; son, Seth Crockett Davis of Wilson; mother, Rebecca "Becky" Johnson Davis of Wilson and brother, Chris Davis and wife, Denise; niece, Katelyn Davis; in-laws, David and Eva Crockett; sister-in-law, Caroline Lynch and husband, Jeff their children, Kayla and Tyler, and his fury friend, Bud.

He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood "Linnie" Earl Davis; brother, Jason Scott Davis; grandparents, J.L. "Bud" and Kathleen Davis; nephew, Bailey Lynch and maternal grandparents-in-law, Lester and Florence Johnson.

In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to the Wilson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS). EMS can accept gifts by calling (252) 237-0789. Please let the operator know that you are making a donation in memory of Shannon Davis and they will assist the call in completing the donation to include providing a donation receipt or a church of one's choice
