Sharon Lynn Eldredge James

Our amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend became our guardian angel on September 23, 2022. Sharon, the oldest of four children and the only girl, was born on March 4, 1939 in Salt Lake City, UT to Miriam and Milton Eldredge. She graduated from Jordan High School in May 1957. Not afraid of hard work, Sharon was proud of her time as a salesperson at Bratten's Seafood Grotto and Auerbach's during her high school years.

Sharon met the love of her life, Tom, near her home on Creek Road while he was visiting his grandmother at the next-door farm. After years of double-dating with Tom's parents, Sharon and Tom married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 22, 1957.

Tom and Sharon started their family in Salt Lake City, where they had five children before moving the family to Poway, California in 1974, where they added the final member of their immediate family, Elsie. During this time, Sharon flourished in her role of mother ... earning a reputation with her friends and family as the best homemade ice-cream maker around - winning numerous awards for her creations. As her children grew, Sharon and Tom began traveling around the world visiting countries in Europe, North, Central and South America, and the Middle-East.

Sharon was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition to serving as a Bishop's wife, she held various positions in Primary, Sunday School, Young Women's, and Relief Society. More than anything, Sharon was devoted to family and excelled in her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. For her, there was no more treasured moment than a room full of laughter, and a new baby on her lap.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and two great-grandchildren.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Tom; Children: Mark (Michelle) of Carlsbad, Todd (Janice) of San Diego, Paul of Eagle Mountain, Elsie (Victor) of Flagstaff, Kristen (Rebecca) of San Diego, and Neil (Tonya) of Atlanta; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brothers: Michael (Caroline) of Ivins, Richard (KC) of Ivins and Jerry (Marie) of Salt Lake City.
