Sharon Weber
November 1, 1942 - January 5, 2021
Rock Hill, South Carolina - Sharon Ann Weber went in peace to heaven Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the age of 78 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 1, 1942 in Utica, NY to her loving parents Willard and Louise Skinner.
Sharon had a beautiful smile and beautiful heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always very strong for her family and everyone always had her to lean on and this carried over to everyone, she never met a stranger. She was easy to talk to and had kind, loving words of support and encouragement for everyone and thus had many wonderful friends that she kept in touch with on a regular basis her whole life.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Mike Weber; her five children: Elizabeth Washburn, Shawn Weber (Jamie Weber), Michele Hodges (Bobby Hodges), Alison Tessener (Stephen Tessener) and Seth Weber (Hannah Weber); 7 grandchildren: Emily DeLaura (Jarred DeLaura), Lauren Tessener, Jake Weber, Luke Weber, Chase Weber, Evi Hodges and George Hodges; and a great- granddaughter, Eliza DeLaura. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill Skinner (Margaret Carrier) and Keith Skinner (Debbie Skinner). Sharon was preceded in death by her father, Willard Skinner; her beloved mother, Louise Skinner; and her brother, George Skinner.
On July 19, 1975, Sharon married her husband of 45 years, Michael Weber. They were blessed with 5 beautiful children whom they raised in Upstate NY in Forestport and Remsen. They spent many great years riding motorcycles, decorating their beautiful homes and raising their beautiful children in NY before moving to Rock Hill, SC to be near their children and the warmer weather.
Sharon grew up in New Hartford, NY and in September of 1963 graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing at the top of her class. She was a brilliant and talented nurse working in many different fields of nursing including emergency room nurse, perioperative nurse, med/surg nurse, pediatric nurse, IV team, family practice and home health, working in New York and South Carolina. Whenever anyone would have any questions or concerns, she would always know what to do or who to call. She was always there to help and guide anyone in need.
Sharon started her day every morning with her crossword puzzle and crossword dictionary which kept her mind sharp. Sharon had a passion for pleasing others which was expressed through her love of shopping for them. She was meticulous about her choices and loved picking out birthday gifts for her children and dresses for her granddaughters. It was always exciting to see the shoes and purses that she would pick out. She had an eye for fashion and design. She loved hearing about the fun activities her grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed reading and keeping up with current affairs. She loved talking politics and enjoyed family get togethers.
Sharon loved spending time taking scenic drives with her family to relax, talk and enjoy a beautiful day. She loved to look at the flowers and search for the most beautiful hydrangeas, rose of Sharon, and forsythias in the neighborhoods.
Prayer was a big part of her life. Sharon attended St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill, SC but enjoyed attending different churches including St. Mary's and All Saints Catholic Church of Lake Wylie in South Carolina and Our Lady of the Rosary in Upstate New York.
Sharon will be deeply missed and will be remembered every single minute of every single day. Life will not be the same but her strength and love will carry on in the ones she loved.
Sharon will be laid to rest in Utica, NY at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Sharon's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959 which was very dear to her heart.
