Shawn Dodd Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 9, 2024.
Shawn De Dodd, 51, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on December 31, 2023. He was born on May 1, 1972, in Wylie, Texas. Shawn was a kind, loving, and good-hearted man.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Margaret Sue Crouthamel, his brother Tommy Curtis Dodd, his sister Tammy Lynn Richards, and his two stepbrothers Billy and Kevin Crouthamel. He was preceded in death by his father, Travis C. Dodd, who passed away in 1980.

Shawn attended West Plains Middle School for his primary education and later graduated from West Plains High School in West Plains, Missouri. During his Senior year, Shawn was one out of 350 students nationwide who was a Congressional Scholar in Washington DC, where he got to meet with Congress for a week.

Aside from his dedication to his family and friends, Shawn had a passion for art. He found solace and joy in expressing himself through various creative mediums.

Shawn's warm heart, kind nature, and artistic spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A private memorial service will be held to honor Shawn's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a local art organization in memory of Shawn.

May Shawn's soul find eternal peace and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who mourn his loss.

Shawn always tried to find the best in others. He was kind and helped others whenever he could. He always looked out for me when we were kids. My big brother. He loved art and he was so talented. I remember a beautiful poinsettia he drew for a Christmas art contest when he was still in high school. And his owl woodburning was stunning. I will miss him, but I am grateful to the Lord that he is healed and free of pain.

My favorite memory was eating at Lucille's 1 of his favorite restaurants in spite of the daily difficulty of his seizures he loved life and loved those who was always around looking out for him. He loved art with a deep passion few of us could ever understand. He will be greatly missed

Shawn was one of a kind. Always ready and willing to make someone laugh, or just brighten their day. I´m glad he is no longer suffering from seizures.

Love you Cousin!
