Carole and Otto-

It has been years since I have seen you and talked to you, but I never stopped thinking about how you all were, what you were doing, etc. To finally speak with you again , and to hear of Shawn's passing made me extremely sad. He was a beautiful boy and so good to my daughter Kelsey. I have wonderful memories of holidays spent with the 3 of you and they will always be with me. Thank you for coming back into my life as I prepare to send my daughter off into her adult life. God Bless both of you and know that Shawn will always be watching over you.

Remembering you with love today,

pass by the accident scene twice or more daily, wondered who was so loved. I say a prayer for Shawn as I pass by, and hope his family find peace

May 16, 2006

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Shawn was in our thoughts yesterday on his birthday. We hope time will be a healer for you and Otto, but we know how painful this first year is. Shawn was a wonderful friend to us and we miss him so much. His smile was contagious, and he had a generous spirit. It was a gift to have him in our lives.

Aunt Carole and Otto --

Although it's been years since we have seen each other, not a Memorial weekend goes by that I don't think about the year Nick, Alex and myself visited with you and Shawn. The kids had such a great time searching for Ninja Turtle and Strawberry Shortcake toys, eating popsicles at the outdoor Festival and going up in the space needle. Shawn had such an inviting spirit and ease with people. I wish I had known him as an adult. While his sudden, way too soon passing is hard to understand, one thing I do know is that you brought him into the world full of love and grace and shared him with the rest of us, and for that...I am grateful.

God Bless you in this difficult time. Rest assured that he is around you each day, just as you were for him. I will keep you in my prayers to find peace, just as he has.

Love you -- Cindy

Carole and Otto...

I have waited to write you here far too long...

I have prayed that I would find some words to help ease a little of your pain and sorrow...I have not heard them...

I know Shawn is with the Lord and he is watching over you both...I pray that you feel some comfort in that...

I want to say... I am forever here...I will walk by your sides, hold your hands and wipe the tears...whenever you need me I am here...whatever I can do I will do for you...

You are in my prayers and thoughts many times each and every day...

With Love and Prayers

Carole & Otto, I am sadden beyond words at the loss of Shawn's life. I have his picture on my dresser and look at it every day. It has been 29 years since we have seen each other, yet I feel so close to you and Shawn. I feel your loss and share your grief and pain over Shawn's sudden and too early passing. I know Shawn misses you both tremendously, but he is safe and in good hands. I wish we were close enough that I could put my arms around both of you and just hold you. All my love forever, Jan

I am sending my most sincere condolences to Carol and Otto on the loss of their beloved son. On the occasions I met him he apeared to be a loving, caring son -- an All-American boy. It is hard to understand when a child goes on the journey before the parents. May the passing of time ease your pain and bring you understanding.

Dear Son, It's been six weeks tonight since your fatal accident.

Your mom and I keep thinking you

will be arriving home anytime. My

buddy and partner to go with me to

the swap meets and car shows is missed beyond belief. This week I

went out and bought a new 2005 half

ton pickup, black ofcourse, with the same interior as yours had. I'm

going to lower it so mom has an

easier time getting into it. Then

I'm going to put a tonnul cover on

it. Other than that it is loaded.

I can just see you beaming down with a big smile. Oh what I would

give to have you take a ride with

me. Remember the year you went with

me to the "Indy 500". I'm sure glad

we had that special time together.

In a few weeks I'm leaving for the

"Brickyard 400" and you will be in

my thoughts and prayers. One of these years way down the road, mom

and I will join you and be together

again. I love you Shawn and I cherish our memories of past years

from our sailing trip to the Straits of Georgia to the year we

made ice igloos on Mt.Rainier and

slept in them in a big snow storm.

I give thanks for the 31 years I had you with me and I await our re-union. I love you Shawn forever.

Your Dad.

Carole & Otto,

You know how sorry we both are to hear about Shawn. He always had a good story and made us laugh. He was so laid back and had such a great sense of humor just like his mom and dad. We will miss him coming in to the office and putting a smile on our faces. You will be able to think of him and smile again....What a gift. We are both thinking about you and know you are in good hands. Love Beth and Sue

My deepest thought are out to you Carol and Otto...losing a son before his time must be one of the hardest things to go through. I ran into Shawn about a year ago after not seeing him in almost a decade...we ended up chatting for a couple of hours, really catching up on old times. He seemed so alive and determined, so to hear of his passing is extremely saddening.

Carole, Otto and Family- I knew who Shawn was through high school. I feel your heartache and pain. I just recently lost my little brother Salvador A. Corona Jr., age 22 in a sudden automobile accident in Ukiah, California. I am the oldest of 5 and would like to send my condolences to Shawn's other sibblings. As a mother, I cannot fathom losing my daughter. Shawn is safe in heaven; like my brother watching over us. We'll see them again someday. They will always be alive in our hearts.
