Shirley Virginia Ovshak

Shirley Virginia Ovshak (Bishop) passed away peacefully on April 1, 2023, at the age of 84. She was born on May 28, 1938, and grew up in Hopkins. She made Maple Plain home with her husband, Bob. Shirley lived out her life in her starter home, on her terms for 67 years.

Shirley was known for her wit, laughter and her Norwegian stubbornness. She bowled on a bowling league and was part of a Women's card club for many years.

Shirley worked at the Red Owl in Wayzata for several years. She retired from the State Bank of Long Lake. She spent her retirement years visiting Las Vegas and playing cards at the Delano Senior Center weekly with her beloved husband Bob.

Shirley is survived by her sons, Jeffrey and Michael (Nancy); Daughter, Lauree Ovshak; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; Sister Bobbi Tannahill. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bob); Father, Alison (Bud) Bishop; Mother, Virginia Bishop; Brother Allen Bishop.

Visitation will be September 16 from 10:30 to 12 with a Service to follow at Woodridge Church 1500 County Rd. 24, Long Lake, MN 55356. Lunch will be served after the service. Afterwards, there will be an interment at Grand-View Cemetery, 6901 Maloney Ave, Hopkins, MN 55343. We welcome all family members to join us.

Shirley will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
