In Loving Memory of Shirley Ann Tipton Patterson

Shirley Ann Tipton Patterson, 82, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished. Born on July 18, 1942, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Theresa Kelly Tipton and Richard Tipton, Shirley lived a life full of strength, love, and quiet grace.

A proud graduate of Eddystone High School in Eddystone, PA, Shirley answered a higher calling early in life by serving in the United States Marine Corps, where she earned the rank of Private First Class. Her commitment to duty was matched only by her devotion to her family.

Shirley's heart belonged to her loved ones. Whether gathered around a holiday table, chatting on the phone, or simply sharing a laugh in the kitchen, her greatest joy came from being with her family. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, cherished sister, proud grandmother, adoring great-grandmother, and a loyal friend to many. Her warmth and steady presence created a sense of home wherever she went.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Bob Patterson; daughters, Gina Patterson Roberts and Melinda Tipton Amerson; brothers, Richard Tipton and Steven Tipton; sister, Melanie Tipton Jefferis; grandchildren, Sean Amerson, Justin Amerson, Casandra Schoeff, Michael Peterson, Taylor Meskimen Orsborn, and Jaxen Meskimen; and great-grandchildren, Oaklynn and Ollivander Orsborn and Serenity and Slone Schoeff.

Shirley is now reunited with her parents, Theresa and Richard Tipton; her sister, Sandra Tipton; her nephew Michael Maslowski, Jr. and her beloved daughter, Lisa Patterson, whom she missed deeply.

Those who knew Shirley will remember her for her kind spirit, her steady support, and the way she made each person feel loved and seen. Her legacy is woven through the generations she nurtured, the lives she touched, and the countless small moments that reflected her quiet, enduring strength.

A military service to honor Shirley's life will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona (2929 E. Pinnacle Peak Road - Phoenix 85024) on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 11 a.m.-a tribute befitting the woman who served her country and her family with unwavering devotion.

In keeping with her compassionate spirit, Shirley requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arizona Humane Society (see link provided below) - a reflection of her lifelong love for animals.

May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave throughout her life.

Note: The celebration of Shirley's life will continue following the service at Mike and Gina's home:

1518 E. Cloud Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85086.

A light lunch will be served.

I was very sad to hear about Shirley´s passing.
Shirley and my sister, Gloria, were friends for many years. When they were together, I remember so much happiness and laughter! Shirley´s smile and personality lit up a room
May she fly with the angels. May God be with her family and send them much love and peace.

Dear Sister, I have been so Blessed, to have had you in my life. You were a daughter, sister, mother, aunt, friend and loving wife.
We all will cry and miss you, your passing broke our hearts. And now you´re loved in Heaven, and a small piece of healing starts.
You now can be with Lisa, Sandy, Mom and Dad, Aunt Ceil, my sweet Son Michael; that can help our hearts feel glad.
We´ll have times we´ll cry and miss you,
and then you´ll send a sign, to let us know you hear us, then your memory will shine.
Love and miss you Mugsy
