Shirley Shepherd Obituary
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Haven Miller and Mrs. Hattie Bell Miller; four brothers, Alfred, Joseph, Russell and Douglas Miller; and her former husband, Mr. Lawrence P. Shepherd Jr.
Those left to cherish fond memories are her three daughters, Donna Miller, Sherry Shepherd and Yvetta Shepherd-Grier; two sons, Jeffrey and Christopher Shepherd; five grandchildren, Samantha, Cryston, Christopher Shepherd, all of Roanoke, George and Haven Grier, of Greensboro, N.C.; one sister, Joyce Miller, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; daughter-in-law, Helen Crump-Shepherd; a son-in-law, Clarence Grier; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel, with the Pastor Steven A. Norman officiating. Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park. There will be no public viewing. Condolences may be sent to www.Hamlar-Curtis.com.

I am so sorry about your mother. We are never ready to let them go no matter what the age. I pray that our loving God will lay his gentle hand on you and wrap his arms around your family during this time.
