Amazing Person. Always with a smiling face. We interned together in 1970 when besides working hard we played a lot of tennis. All these years of accomplishments had not changed his personality. Truly a great friend and will miss him a lot. May he rest in peace.

I have been fortunate to have been associated with Dr. Gowda at St Luke´s Hospital for over 30 years. For the last 10 years we have had an annual Indian dinner to celebrate birthdays, and Siddesh was always there to join in the fun. He also cared for family and friends, and we knew they were in excellent hands. We have been honored to call him a colleague and friend, and extend our deep condolences to his family and friends.

Dr. Siddesh Gowda was a loved person, lending a helping hand to his friends and family , expecting nothing in return. He has helped me! He was kind and generous when my son Michael visited Dr. Gowda during his road trip and Dr. Gowda always recalled the loving relationship between my son Michael and his dog, Mia, and remarked how happy it made him feel. Dr. Gowda was a dedicated cardiologist who loved doing what he did to the end. A few of us were to have gotten together early this spring in Atlanta but due to Covid-19 infection, it did not happen. Such is life! Siddesh, RIP - you are missed!! With lots of love and affection, and prayers, Sumathy

In the 35+ years I have known Sid at St Lukes I can never remember him without a smile, a good word, a pat on the back. For so many years the "go to guy" for complex interventional procedures, I knew I could expect and receive a call when he had cared for one of my patients in the cath lab. I was honored when he called with a question in nephrology. Not only will I miss him for his talent and expertise in interventional cardiology, but even more so for his humility, warmth, generosity and gentleness. He was a true Gentleman .

Sid was a longtime colleague and friend, and our family will miss him very much. We enjoyed multiple Thanksgiving Days celebrations and numerous other happy occasions together. He always had a kind word and such a generous spirit. I especially recall a CME course with Sid in Florida, the times that he helped professionally, investment talk, seeing him in Forest Park and beautiful holiday centerpieces, all fond memories.

Ever since our introduction to Siddhesh, by our uncle and aunt, more than 18 years ago, he had been a warm and comforting presence in our lives. His friendly greeting at the beginning of every phone conversation with us would instantly put a smile on our face. His mild-mannered personality allowed for easy conversations without judgement or negativity - always encouraging and reassuring. He affectionately inquired about updates on the family and offered advice, assistance and support whenever needed, without hesitation. It is clear that he made a profound impact not only on our lives, but on all those he encountered both professionally and personally. His compassion, patience, kindness and generosity will not be forgotten. We feel privileged that you were a part of our lives and miss you, Siddhesh. May your soul Rest In Peace.

Sidd was a dear friend, CWE neighbor and walking buddy for over 25 years, He was a wonderful person and an even better friend: kind, caring, and generous - a truly decent person. Almost every Saturday and Sunday, and most holidays, Sidd and I walked together for a couple of hours. Those are times I will miss terribly. I still walk our usual paths, missing him but blessed to have had our friendship and so many memories of him. He will be missed by so many people! His spirit will live on in the many people he touched.

Rest in peace my friend.

Our dear friend
Dr. Siddhesh Gowda:

Siddhesh was a great doctor, a great Cardiologist and above all a great human being.
Forty years of his service was a long journey at St. Luke's Hospital.
He saved thousands of lives and touched many hearts with his excellent Interventional Cardiology skills, compassionate care and kindness.
He was always very independent in life and equally independent in his passing.
He was a great teacher, mentor, friend, colleague and a brother.
It is indeed our privilege and pleasure of knowing Siddhesh.
We imagine that he would be reminiscing with Dr. Robert Payne and Dr. Paul Mennes.
We also imagine that he would be discussing the latest Interventional Cardiology techniques with Dr. Andreas Gruentzig and the effects of radiation with Dr. Marie Curie and why Cardiologists and Radiologists should wear a Lead helmet along with other protective measures from radiation.
We imagine that he will make sure that they are well fed.
We also imagine that he would be watching Tennis and Cardinals Baseball from above and walking and jogging all over the heaven.
We salute him for his invaluable service to the society and for his friendship.
We love Siddhesh.
We will miss him dearly.
May God bless his soul,

Siddhesh, R.I.P.

Dr. Sidd Gowda was dear to so many people, including my husband, Dr. Tom Dew, and me. Tom thought the world of Sidd and admired his great skill with heart catherization, saying that his hands were the best. I would add (and I think Tom would agree) that his heart--so kind and loving and gentle--was the best, too. He was always helping someone. The world is a sadder place without the luminous presence of Dr. Siddhesh Gowda, a gentleman, a friend to many, a caring physician, and top-notch human being.

We probably met about 28 years ago at frontenac racquet club where you invited me to join you and your many friends in singles and doubles at Creve Coeur frontenac and other outdoor courts. After two hours of much fun and low-key rivalry and respect, you would go off to Forest Park and walk three or four hours with your other friends. I could never understand that but it was just one part of your wonderful spirit, kindness and constant activity that make up such a beautiful soul. While there was less tennis over the past 10 years, there were many phone calls and occasional dinners to share love laughter, time and great food. I have smiled and shed tears over these other posts, especially seeing your beloved red car; it makes me sad to learn why you didn’t return my phone call from a few weeks ago. May your love of life, your kindness and generosity flow throughout the world as we mourn your absence on earth. Karen Newell

Our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dear Uncle Sid. Uncle Sid has been one of the most kind, patient, brilliant, unassuming, generous people I know. He is endlessly encouraging, supportive, and inclusive of others. He truly enjoy others for who they are, and lets them shine. Uncle Sid, you have been my St. Louis dad ever since I arrived at WashU in 1992; Minesh and I will treasure our good times in St Louis; you made your home our home. We will miss the long walks in Forest Park, the great meals in the latest eateries, the late-night conversations & laughter, and all the memories we have created together. Your gentle guidance and support have meant more that words can say, especially through the most trying times. I strive to emulate your way in my own life. Please give our love to my mother when you see her; you always spoke so highly of her each time we met, and it made me smile.

Dr. Siddhesh was my daughter's mentor and guide. He was so happy to take her as his student , he said "she is like my daughter I will take care of her". My daughter shadowed him for a week at St Louis. When we went to drop her off on the first day, he came down to the parking lot to greet us in spite of his busy schedule. He would always keep in touch with us. He liked to feed others, he took us all 10+ folks to a fine Indian restaurant fed us lavishly. He was so happy to know us, We know his family back in Davanagere. I wish I had called him during the Dasara festival. Very fine person. Miss him...

Thank you for the endless cookies and treats you always gave me just to make my day extra great that day. I looked up to you and always will.
