The first time I'd heard of Sinead O'Connor was when she blew up the media by tearing up a picture of the Pope - I thought she was the bravest artist I'd ever seen. Sinead cared - she cared about the children, and reminded us that we're all children of God, her brothers and sisters. She left us a legacy of protection - of caring deeply, of standing up alone against anyone who harms our babies. She was an inspiration, a signpost of responsibility, a loving Mother, a talented musician, and a woman who was willing to risk it all to protect the world's chldren. Her courage and honesty, her music, and her love is a gift - she will live on in us forever. Thank you, sweet Lady.

Sinéad spired for me in the 90's. I had made a decision to stay in The Netherlands and bring my children up here. As I was an alone parent the risks of returning to Ireland was great for me and my children. I love Ireland and was often homesick. Sinéad said it all as regards my fears. My parents died at a very young age, both were Soldiers in WW11. I know they would have both loved Sinéad as they like Sinéad stood up for women, children and were not afraid of the Church because of their life experience. I never met Sinéad but she came to me through fame and I am very grateful to her. Thank God for her wonderful personality and voice. She came at the right time finally unfolded the Catholic Church but never stoped loving God.

I had the pleasure to meet and know Sinead for a couple weeks in 2016 in Evanston, Illinois. She was a very nice person, who truly loved her children. I loved hearing her Irish accent and I'd greet her by saying "Sinead..What's going on!" For which she would laugh and call me nuts. Very sad she is gone, but I hope she finds the peace, love and happiness that she was looking for.

Will always remember, the Late Late show did a Peace Process programme back in Late 80's, early 90', I think. Sonead O'connor was sitting in the front row of the audience, and Gay Byrne asked her to sing the programme out, I think, she sang "Make me a channel of your Peace", unaccompanied, I can still hear her beautiful voice.
